About us

Ricardo engineering is the largest part of EPD - a unified Engineering, Product and Design department. We work cross-functionally, with around 6-8 teams active on different topics at once. We share a hack day-style way of working, with weekly public stand-ups and demos, strong self-organization, and individual responsibility. With over 40 engineers, and three offices (Zug - Switzerland, Belgrade - Serbia,  Valbonne - France), we work closely with our colleagues across borders. Together, we partake in workshops, hack days and organise special events/projects for innovation, learning and experiments. Job description

Engineering Leads at Ricardo are focused on people. Their primary responsibility is to ensure the people under their responsibility are growing, doing valuable work and generally having a great time in the company. They are strongly involved in building the best teams which means they play a strong role in hiring, writing processes, spreading and developing the engineering culture. They handle performance reviews, 1:1s, personal development of their team members as well as the organization of events.

It’s also important that they learn new things in technology in order to support their engineers' growth and stay up-to-date with the current software development processes and practices at Ricardo. Engineering Team Leads at Ricardo are still actively working for the technical development of Ricardo itself, just like all engineers. They are able to jump in at any moment if someone is absent or on vacation. Each of us currently plays an active role in SEO, search infrastructure, API development or leading development and operational efforts with small teams.

As one of us takes a new step in his career and moves internally to a product management role, we are looking to find someone to take over his responsibilities and join our group. For this position, we want to bring in additional mobile engineering skills in our organization to support our native apps specialist and also grow the knowledge in our company through guilds, workshops, bootcamp, hackdays and trainings.

  • Actively mentor and coach engineers in their careers
  • Partner with recruiting to build incredible cross-functional teams
  • Build and promote highly functional, healthy, inclusive and collaborative teams
  • Drive culture choices to positively impact engineering as an organization
  • Teach about engineering standards and good practices across the organization


About you

  • 5+ years of relevant engineering work experience and 2+ years of hands-on team management experience
  • You developed software using one or several technologies and master patterns and practices around software development
  • You enjoy speaking about software development or other topics in general, teach others, share your knowledge and experience through group sessions, pair programming, hack-day style events
  • You work well in a highly collaborative and cross-functional environment

  • Setup the new hire on-boarding experience using Asana 
  • Organising the java meetup in Belgrade, hackathon-style events, conferences
  • Running guilds for node.js, java, architecture
  • Speaking publicly at recruiting events and conferences
  • Creating standard libraries to share best practices across our stack
  • Rewriting several applications in typescript, golang, java
